"A public building used for various functions including weddings. We attended one (capacity approx 90 persons) not long ago and the venue was really nice. It's located on a residential street, with Gage Park immediately behind it (at one time the park was part of its yard).Other uses have been election polling, and town hall gatherings to address development proposals." Archeo

"Amazing experience from start to finish! My husband and I hosted our wedding of 93 guests this past September 2018 and we couldn't of had a more amazing experience working with Archeo. They were so helpful with the planning process, and the food was absolutely incredible! All of our guests said it was the best food they've ever had at a wedding. The patio is a perfect tucked away oasis for ceremonies and cocktail hour. The restaurant itself is so romantic and intimate, exactly what we wanted. Would recommend Archeo to anyone 10/10. " (more)

Markham Museum

"What An Impressive Museum! This museum represents the Historical History for the City Of Markham. I had a very detailed and impressive tour given to ME by Cathy Molly, Director of the Markham Museum. She showed me the various rooms and eventually took me outdoors to further explain the other rooms such as where they make apple cider, do wood carvings, organic gardening, pottery, etc. In Addition: I also got to meet with Shane who is a professional Wood Carver and Instructor and he gave ME a talk as well about his work on a separate Youtube Video that we made with his Grade 12 Students that were present. I want to personally Thank Cathy Molloy, Director of the Markham Museum for the time that she took out of her day to give ME a tour and show ME around as well as Shane , the Wood Carving Instructor back on Monday, July 9, 2018. The National Club

"The National Club was the ultimate host in every capacity for our wedding. My husband and I were married on June 3, 2017, and it was the perfect Toronto setting. We had guests from all over, near and and overseas, and it was an amazing experience for anyone. This is a private club and a Toronto heritage landmark. Our guests were extremely excited to have access to the club and see what is behind the big beautiful doors. Our ceremony was at our parish in the west end of Toronto. Upon arrival, guests were directed to the rooftop patio for hand-passed appetizers. This really set the tone, and some of our guests are STILL raving about this detail. Having access to any rooftop overlooking the financial core is extremely rare. Guests were then directed to the main dining room on the 2nd level. The food was excellent. Cooking prime rib to everyone's tastes for approximately 130 guests is a feat, but the staff nailed it. Our guests also had the option of chicken or vegan. All of the food for our wedding was made in house, including our beautiful wedding cake, which looked like something out of a wedding magazine. After dinner, guests were directed up to the 3rd floor - the "Red Room". The National Club put down a dance floor for us, and our DJ's equipment was no issue from an A/V perspective. We danced the night away, and had delicious late night food including sliders, pizza, and fries. My husband and I stayed at the Club that night, as did some of our wedding party. Words cannot express my gratitude towards the National Club team. Renata Zaborowski supported us in every capacity to ensure that this was the best day of our lives. Chef, the kitchen, serving and bar staff, with special mention to Jose Sorto, were unbelievable. Thank you, thank you, thank you!" (more)

Hart House

Most Recent Review
"We held our wedding here in June 2019 and it was absolutely wonderful. Out coordinator Tara was responsive, organized and answered all of our 'dumb' questions. She was also very honest and upfront about costs and planning we we appreciated as (with most people) we were doing this for the first time. There are a couple of restrictive policies when holding a Hart House wedding, most pertain to the historical nature of the venue (no decorations that will take paint off the walls, no confetti, no shots) and really if you like the venue for what it is it shouldn't be a big deal. A note about pushing or upselling, there wasn't any, there were a couple of vendors showing off their thing at the tasting, but other than that Hart House has no incentive to upsell or try to get you to the "next package", they are very transparent with how much it will cost and let you decide. We were allowed to move all decorations in a few days early for storage, which definitely helped with logistics for day of. The day went off absolutely perfectly, Tara and staff were very helpful in helping us setup, keep our wedding helpers informed, and even keeping us on time regarding venue logistics. Everybody was where they needed to be without us having to lift a finger, it had all been planned out in advanced and was so well executed. There was high praise for the venue AND the food, very good for wedding food it doesn't taste mass produced at all! A couple of small items to nit pick: a safe is often made available to the wedding party to keep gifts in at some venues, we live close by so had friends run the gifts back to our condo. Also, air conditioning, remember that this place does not have it, just make sure you have folks dress accordingly if they're the type that get hot easily. Plain flowers and some small decor items really bring out the historical beauty of this venue, it really doesn't need much more than that! Thanks again for the best experience we could've asked for for our wedding!" (more)

Heintzman House

"We held our wedding reception at Heintzman House in July 2014 and couldn't have been more happy with our venue choice. The charm and beauty of this venue is amazing. What also appealed to us about the Heintzman House was the fact that there was a large bridal suite with private bathroom and several sitting rooms that the guests could roam in and explore before or during the reception. Furthermore, the house had beautifully manicured grounds with lots of greenery and colourful flower beds so guest could enjoy getting some fresh air during the reception. Almost every other guest we spoke to made a comment about how great and unique this venue was so we knew people loved it. It was stunning for photos too...I wish we actually allotted more time for photos at the venue. We also really enjoyed dealing with Christine who runs the place. She was always extremely nice and very accommodating in letting us come over to try out decorations or drop of supplies. All in all, picking this reception venue was one of our best wedding planning decisions. " (more)
