We went there with another couple and overall this resort place is above my expectation! The food was great, we had our dinner on the day we arrived (dress code: business casual) and we all love what we ordered: thanksgiving special, lamb shank, duck and steak, and we had our breakfast and lunch, all tasted well! The rooms have histories, and I loved the vintage style - paintings, wall paper. The resort has lots of activities and we didn't find out before we left. Will try those for our next trip.We walked a lot around the resort, there is a lane besides the golf court, very beautiful and we were feeling we were walking on the Avenue des Champs-Elysees of Paris.Suggestion: (1) although the food was great, it could be better (considering Canada is a diversified country, it could be better if some Asian flavor could be introduced in the soon future); (2) the bedding could be better. We will definitely go back! Recommend it!
When we walked in we were greeted. But we were not given any instructions on where to go. We went to have lunch the food was good. Over priced but good. Then we went to the pool. There was nothing in the change rooms no soap, no robes, no towels. We later found out that we could have gone to the spa to get our robes. The water in the pool was freezing! It also had a weird smell inside the pool area. The shower in the pool was covered with algae which was disgusting. The building is outdated inside and could use a facelift. We went down for our spa treatment and the spa area was really nice and cozy! Our masseuses Natalia and Maria were great! We really enjoyed our massage. Would we come back here again? Yes but only for the massage. The facilities themselves need some work. It also would have been nice for the front desk to let people know (when applicable) where to get robes/towels.
This place is an institution and often used for wedding receptions. Great grounds to enjoy and a great spot for outside events. The kitchen is competent if not spectacular and did not disappoint. The room decor is somewhat dated but that fits into the over all charm of the place. Its a bit remote located in a rural area outside if Toronto is its a bit of a drive
Wonderful place to get away. Lots to do-golf, swim, canoe, kayak, badminton, nature walks. Also lots of beautiful spaces for quiet times. Attentive staff and delicious meals. Worth a visit
The property is well maintained, lots of space, we enjoyed the pool, there is an indoor and outdoor pool. It wasn't busy at all. The lake is across the street which was very convenient. The rooms are very outdated and there is an awkward smell, almost moldy. The property is not accessible, we had a stroller and there aren't any ramps or elevators to the rooms. Also, when checking out, there was an unknown charge on my room which I told the front desk was not mine but she would not let it go. Eventually, after like 20 minutes of investigating said it was a mistake. This was very inconvenient for us, we were hoping to check out quickly and get on the road. I asked several times if this could be dealt with after as my husband and infant were waiting in the car for me. Be sure to keep your receipts. I think someone had used our room number for their own lunch. Be careful.
